an outstanding highlight in this years late summer is presented by the stars of the berlin label supdub. for this years first time the dj duo heinrichs & hirtenfellner (also well known as alfred heinrichs & sascha braemer) is producing together again.

a brand new analogue melodic techno label is born from tim gaal (adepth audio) & jack wax. this first solo e.p. from tim has an excellent warm remix package to offer and tim is making a statement with this one! great warm synth paths & deep melodic sounds!

terrence dixon is the man behind sporadic production alias population one, serving up dark and heavy, intense and ravey records for classic labels like utensil only occasionally. as such, delsins re-issue arm (following on from dan curtin, mk and luke slater titles) has sought to get some of the old tracks out there once again on this double a side 10inch outing with midnight hours (first on detroit: beyond the third wave lp from 1996) and two sides to every story (from an ep of the same name on metroplex, also in 1996).

chairlift present takes on several cuts from acclaimed second album >something< by some of their favorite producers, showcasing how their songs can easily be adapted for the club. appropriately titled the 6.15amix, spanish equipo fantástico john talabot and pional turn >i belong in your arms< into a balearica-infused club-closer. a nifty piano line and seductive rhythm take the song on a late night (or rather early morning) trip to the beach, while carolines voice is being warped into something from outer space. photek takes the same track to a whole different place with his powerful jungle interpretation. martyn respects both the pace and rhythm of sidewalk safari, yet exchanges the clean production for a rather more cosmic beat, incorporating many of his signature touches to compliment the sinister >i m gonna hunt you down< lyric. dan careys dub mix of >sidewalk safari< shows a more playful side, while arguably the most intriguing remix of the package is the fields take on >met before<, recalling his early work it is so warped and layered you may struggle to imagine the original minus the smallest of hints.
